Handsome Salt approaches design like a world traveler collecting souvenirs—each piece, pattern, and color chosen with care, curiosity, and a fearless eye for the unexpected. Her style is eclectic, vibrant, and layered, blending function with personality in every corner. Her best advice? “I don’t believe in rules,” she says. “I make my own.”

We sat down with Handsome Salt to explore her creative process, the elements she returns to time and again, and what Schoolhouse product she returns to time and time again.

What design “rule” do you always follow, and which was made to be broken?

I 100% do not believe in rules. Make your own.

What’s your favorite Schoolhouse product?

I love the Otto 2.25" flush mount. I especially love the fluted globe and the variety of colors. It’s a great way to add a pop of color to a bathroom!
