The Goddess Shaded Plug-in Pendant embodies the best of the collaboration between ace&jig and Schoolhouse. The shade is wrapped in Goddess fabric, a woven textile with a thin gold metallic inlay and alternating bands of black cat-eye and diamond patterns. This versatile plug-in fixture offers thoughtful details including a generous 20 feet of black twisted cloth cord, a True Black-finished brass socket cup, and a Bakelite plug. Coordinating True Black-finished swag hooks and a rocker switch allow for quick and easy installation over a dining room table, side table, nightstand, or wherever your fancy strikes. Assembled in our Portland factory. A Schoolhouse Original.

Artist Statement

ace&jig is a labor of love for founders Cary Vaughan and Jenna Wilson, who met as design interns and bonded over a shared passion for antique textiles. While the company is based in Brooklyn, New York and Portland, Oregon, it’s India that provides a source for the stunning creations they produce. Using a vast collection of heirloom textiles for inspiration, Cary and Jenna work with traditional weavers (90% of whom are women) working on wooden handlooms to create unique patterns. Fabrics are made from 100% cotton sourced local to the weavers and yarn-dyed with skin-safe, azo-free dyes. The stripe provides one of their foundational woven motifs, and it’s used to create patterns with a singular richness and texture. The enduring craftsmanship and timeless design of their textiles made this one our most exciting collaborations to date.
