Event Recap: The Hello Sessions

This October, for the second year in a row, we proudly hosted the kick-off party for The Hello Sessions at our flagship Portland store. Launched by two wonderful bloggers and entrepreneurs in 2015, the Hello Sessions is a one day workshop-based conference for creatives from all walks looking for community and hands-on skill building opportunities for their unique endeavors.

Led by Melissa Bahen of Lulu The Baker and Joy Uyeno from Frock Files, we opened our doors for an evening of festivity and fun that offered attendees a chance to get to know one another before the intensive conference began. Tunes were spun by the one-and-only DJ Aquaman (Eric Hedford from The Dandy Warhols!) who also created this special playlist for the evening. Drinks were provided by Union Wine Co., and we had some incredible food prepared on the spot by Let Um Eat, a new Oregon collective who's mission is to revolutionize the way people find and connect with farms and source local food. To add to the evening's beauty, we had floral arrangements made by Emerald Petals.

In addition to the food and festivities (and company!), we had a fun challenge where people could style a Schoolhouse Jack Chair with an array of accessories (or children's toys in the case above!) for a chance to win a $200 gift card. You can see the creative displays on Instagram under #myschoolhousestyle.
