Schoolhouse Spaces: People's Pig

For nearly a decade, The People’s Pig has plated some of the finest smoked meats in the city. Founded by pit master Cliff Allen in 2009, the business migrated from a downtown food cart to a brick-and-mortar restaurant on North Williams Street. Recently, the restaurant expanded to include a beautiful new space on East Burnside that features some of the charm of the North Portland location in lighter, more open dining room. Deep booths, stamped tin ceiling tiles, and a long Formica countertop give the restaurant an endearing greasy spoon diner quality, and Schoolhouse fixtures provide light for customers diving into platters and sandwiches featuring Cliff’s incredible smoked meats.
