Fall 2015 Launch: Chasing the Light

Category: All Category: Spaces

At schoolhouse, we aim to create mindful spaces built on the concept of better, not more. Places where experiences can be treasured rather than counted. This season, we're #CHASINGTHELIGHT and we'd love for you to join us. The concept of 'chasing the light' can mean many different things to different people, which is why it resonated with our team. For us, it's about seeking out and celebrating the people, places, objects and experiences that bring us joy and fulfillment. These are our moments of lightness.

As fall sets in and our days get darker earlier, the appreciation of light - both physically and figuratively - becomes more present. We shot our fall catalog at a friend's river house in Tillamook County about a 45 minute drive outside our hometown of Portland, OR. Throughout the three day experience, we were continuously struck by the fiery light that poured in to everything. As a group, we often found ourselves sitting together on the back patio, taking a moment to enjoy a distinct feeling of gratitude and contentment. From there, the season of #chasingthelight was born.

Looking at the world like we did as kids, eager to absorb everything in and full of spirit, we hope to make the most of our shorter days by holding tight the things that matter and letting go of what doesn't. The moments where we let in the light are the ones we keep closest.

Tag us @schoolhouse #CHASINGTHELIGHT on instagram to share your own moments of lightness. As always, we'll repost and share as well. We love our community and can't wait to see what happens as we chase the light together.
